After a life long interest in alternative energy therapies, and through her own personal healing, Kerri has experienced first hand how the Mind-Body-Spirit connection is absolutely essential to health and well being. She feels it is her purpose in life to use her knowledge and gifts to help others obtain a state of peace, well-being, continued spiritual growth and evolution. By working at uniting all aspects of self, she facilitates a ‘whole’ approach to healing.
During our interview, this very calm and gentle voice on the other end of the phone left me feeling uplifted and energized, which only makes sense as she works with energy fields to help other people feel good and heal themselves. She is a Reiki Master who also teaches Reiki.
Reiki is the rebalancing of the energy fields to maintain health or to help someone become healthy. “My favourite part about Reiki is that it is always changing and evolving, the issues and the people are constantly changing” she says.
Kerri is owner and operator of Circle of Light Energy Therapies in Carlisle, Ontario. She attends retreats four times a year to stay fresh and to learn new skills.
"I am always trying to improve and evolve how I work. I am a teacher but I also am very much a student. I never want to stop changing and growing and evolving. The healing with reiki always benefits from my own personal growth and so I really make an effort to take that time for learning and reflection throughout the year.
"If someone can come to me and have their issues resolved in one session as opposed to four sessions I see that as a very good thing. The more efficient I become at what I do the more I feel I am able to help others."
But this mother of 3 boys didn’t stop after learning Reiki. She went on to learn and become a teacher of Tibetan Yoga as well as Axiatonal Re-Alignment. She also offers Ear Candling, Aboriginal Healing, and Healing with Crystals. Another form of healing she offers is Flower Remedies. She begins this homeopathic healing by matching the healing properties of a particular essence with specific symptoms of a disease, illness, or imbalance. Upon taking the remedy one needs, the body is brought gently back into balance and as a result true healing can occur.
Some products offered through Circle of Light Energy Therapies are custom Aromatherapy Bath Salts, custom Aromatherapy Massage Lotion or Oil, Relaxation CDs, Homeopathic Flower Remedies, Sacred Sage Bundles, and assorted Tumbled Crystals and Crystal Pendants.
Kerri reads Tarot Cards, gives psychic readings and teaches classes on Connecting To Your Spirit Guides. One of Kerri’s students had this to say after attending her Tibetan Yoga class, and coming for a Reiki session -
“I took your Tibetan yoga class which was the first step to me really feeling like I was healing, the yoga classes then lead me to your Reiki sessions which allowed me to heal further but it was the first time that I actually felt at peace and a sense of freedom with a clear mind and body. It took quite a few sessions along with continuing to do yoga and meditating at home to get to this peaceful state. I now do a once a month Reiki session with you which I say to everyone is what keeps me alive, balanced and truly living well."
The yogas trim the body and strengthen the inner organs and balance the internal subtle energy systems. The ultimate result of following the program is a greater flexibility of body and mind leading to all-round better health, more peace and happiness, and longer life.
One of Kerri’s other passions is creating. She has a second company called Soap Planet. You may have seen her at one of various craft shows or festivals selling her many different kinds of soaps, balms, creams, and bath products which are all natural and organically made by Kerri herself. Soap Planet came to life in 2002, after doing something she always wanted to do, but had never got around to~learn to make soap. Finding a real joy and freedom in this creative process she made so much soap she began giving it away to anyone and everyone. After getting a positive response from family and friends, she decided to sell her products to the public.
